The broad industry support achieved by the various configurations of SwifTest is a testament to its robustness and reliability. Most leading test services in the world have had some experience using SwifTest in their on-line production environments. Pintail has successfully installed and supported installations in China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and North America.
Test subcontracting services can use SwifTest for two broad reasons:
- SwifTest can be used as part of an internal test operations management system, like TestScape-Ops [link]. In this case, the test services are the direct customer and licensee of Pintail’s products.
- SwifTest licenses can be installed on behalf of the end user of the test subcontractor; for example, fabless semiconductor companies outsourcing their test operations. In these cases, the end user simply requests their test service to allow Pintail to install the software on the testers used to support the end user. Many times, this installation can be accomplished remotely and usually takes only a few hours to accomplish.
